If you’re going to go crabbing, you might as well do it right.
Around here, that means a trip to Kelly’s Brighton Marina, where the crabs are contagious and the people are the friendliest.
Located just four miles North of Rockaway Beach on Hwy 101, Kelly’s Brighton Marina is the premier spot for crabbing – partially because of its access to Nehalem Bay but also because the owners love sharing their passion for catching crustaceans with everyone they meet. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never crabbed before in your life, Kelly will show you the ropes (literally) and even go so far as teach you how to properly cook and eat them.
Kelly has been crabbing since he was a youngster and overtime has perfected the art of crabbing – even seasoned crabbers could stand to learn a thing or two from Kelly!
Kelly and his wife, Janice took over the Brighton Marina in 2010. Before that, it had been a successful and long-standing marina for more than 50 years. Kelly and Janice had been working in marinas for more than two decades before they took the next leap in purchasing their own marina. And, for the last eight years they’ve been improving the facility and overall experience of the marina for visitors.
But there’s more to Kelly’s than just crabbing. They also offer fishing, camping, boat rentals, and even guided tours of the bay – by Kelly himself.
