Accessibility

Accessibility is in our DNA in Rockaway Beach

We welcome all to our small town and seven miles of beach! Watch this video and learn about our accessibility programs.

Wheel the World

Rockaway Beach is part of the Tillamook Coast, which has been designated as an Accessibility Verified location by Wheel the World. Learn more at TillamookCoast.com.

Beach Wheelchairs

Beach wheelchairs are safe and easy to push, thanks to the large, inflated wheels. Contact Troxel’s Gem and Jewelry Store, in the center of town at 146 US-101. They also have a child’s beach wheelchair and a beach walker. Call or text 541-418-2842 or email rockawayrocks@gmail.com.

David’s Chair

Reserve an electric all-terrain chair through the David’s Chair website. The chair is located at St. Mary’s by the Sea Catholic Church at 275 S Pacific St., where volunteers will help you. The chair is available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2-4pm. Expanded hours available in summer.

ADA Beach Access Wayside Rockaway Beach

ADA Beach Access at the Wayside

In the center of town, the Wayside now has an accessible pathway to and from the beach. It accommodates walkers, beach wheelchairs, strollers and those who use a cane. Watch the video.

ADA-friendly Trail

Walk along the ADA-friendly Old Growth Cedar Trail at the south end of Rockaway Beach. Perfect for use with strollers, walkers, canes and wheelchairs, plus there are benches along the way if you need a rest or want to enjoy the serenity of nature.

ADA-friendly Playground

Anchor Street Playground (right behind city hall and next to the fire station) is a safe and ADA-friendly playground, with accessible equipment and a soft surface. Restrooms onsite.

Restrooms

There are three ADA restrooms and one family ADA restroom at the wayside, between Joe’s Snacks ‘N Beer and the Sand Dollar Restaurant. Parking nearby.
