I really enjoyed this place. It's not the Ritz. My room was basic but a beautiful ocean view. The appliances worked and the location...on the beach...for the rates...you can't beat it. Next time I'll get one with a kitchenette. It's located in walking distance to restaurants...local mart...etc. The staff is super friendly. I had a very enjoyable experience.

I want to write 4.5 stars out of 5. Only because my wife didn't feel safe that part of the building settled a little uneven, it felt that everything was leaning one way a little bit from the 2nd floor.Other than that, hands down would go back in a heart but pick a ground floor stay. Stars at night were amazing and the access to the beach was fantastic. Convenient location.

A wonderful room, the person at the desk let us check in little early. Which we greatly appreciated. I did not want to leave. Our room opened to the beach and we used it all day.

Was able to switch from a non pet friendly room to one that was at the last minute. Wow! The room was right on the beach. Like you walk out the back door and your feet are in the sand, and the price was great for a super busy summer weekend. Will be back again next time I hit the coast.

The staff, Jose, was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Jose had a smile on his face and willing to answer all our questions. The garlic feta fries were very good, but if you don't enjoy salt it could be a bit much. The cod fish was tasty and juicy, but the fries were a little bland after the garlic feta fries. The chicken paprishka was a good stew. The chicken BLT with bacon dipped in egg batter, which was tasty. The limited white chocolate raspberry cheesecake was good. The salted caramel cookie was already prepackaged and was decent. I prefer more of a salty caramel. The banana cake swirl was like a bread with chocolate swirl.

You are getting a room in a very beautiful location which is why you would stay here. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable of the area and helpful. Room was clean but building was older and showing obvious signs of it's years spent in a marine environment. Check in and Out were without any issues. Views from the room were spectacular. Fellow guest were welcoming and friendly. Lobby was clean and looked updated compared to the rest of the buildings.

Didn't have Wifi or phone service signal but sounds like that was outside issue not the fault of Motel. They do have some pet friendly rooms likely to return with my dog. Easy beach access great view. Pipes are getting to be problematic due to sand down the drains, tub drained very slowly. But water pressure was excellent for showers!

Pros:-Great location on the beach—the view is incredible! Although the screams were badly bent and the windows were dirty..-Our dog Dharma came with and had a blast..-Room includes HBO and has nice pictures on the wall..Cons:-Dated rooms—the lock on the door to the beach didn’t work..-Toilet was a mere 1.5 feet off the floor and was painful to use (although the toilet height was perfect for Shire Hobbits & Goblins) and only flushed by holding down the flush lever for 30 seconds or so..-Refrigerator was so small that a 2 liter Pepsi would barely fit leaving no room for anything else..**A year after an organ transplant surgery, the ancient beds make my back hurt each morning. My wife went to the front desk on the third day to request a couple extra pillows. The management told us they “didn’t have any more pillows”. Apparently we had the last two pillows in the complex.-Most electrical outlets were too worn to maintain tight contact with a plug—where is the area fire inspector??

If it had not been for the spectacular view and very comfortable bed I would have given less stars. Room was not very clean at all and I do have photos. Black mold was coming through paint in bathroom ceiling with no fan or ability to open the bathroom window. Windows screen facing Beach was so dirty that you cannot even feel air coming through and the rooms were stuffy and didn't smell fresh at all to the point that you had to keep front and back doors open as long as possible. This did not feel safe doing so even during the day and on the ground floor. Room was for two yet only had one outdoor chair and it was broken to the point it was unusable and dangerous. Rooms need a thorough cleaning top to bottom and update inside and out. Front desk lady was very polite but I did not feel comfortable expressing these issues except for the broken chair outside because who knows if they are going to charge you for things that they should not because of reporting issues. And being short on staff who would have taken care of it anyway in a timely manner anyway? If I could have found another place to stay I would have. With all of the guidelines for hotels and with Covid this tells me that this establishment does not take it seriously. Needs more staff and I know this is hard to come by these days. It is a good thing that I took sanitizer of my own. Oh and the posted sticker on bathroom mirror for a minimum charge of $50 for possibly getting makeup, blood or other stains on towels is ridiculous. So what if you spill something on the carpet, bed or table? Do you not want it to be cleaned up asap? You do not have the staff to have them come and clean it up for you in a timely manner. So does that mean you may be charged for carpet and possibly linens as well if you accidently spill and or stain? They do provide two packages of makeup remover towelettes but no paper towels for any clean ups. IMO, it would be a very good idea for the owner of the property to take a thorough look into there investment property.

Perfect place for a beach getaway! The room was spacious and comfortable and had a kitchenette. The view was incredible. You walk right from the room into the beach, nothing better than that!

Our room said it had a partial view, however as you can see in the pictures you have a huge view of the ocean. It says partial view because the window is not actually facing the ocean. Don't be fooled by the pictures or the sign there is no longer a pool or hot tub. They say they're doing remodeling however it doesn't look like they're doing anything right now. The beach it is attached to is a nice, and easy to access.

Nice motel pictures totally lied of my view it’s only has a small ocean front room there was nasty skin build up on the toilet seat and the beds are very soft and springy with an outdated fridge and and a burn in the carpet other than that it’s right on the beach and is a great view just wish the rooms were more up to date and the lights in the bathroom weren’t so dang bright!! I’d totally pay more for a better time, other than that though room is okay so far no phone in room

Besides the fantastic view, room was very clean supplied with everything needed for bath and kitchen and plenty of towels. The front desk was gracious and professional as we had left something in the room and it was sent to us within days. Could use cushier pillows but other than that, room was a great value.

Very polite staff, extremely happy they manage the parking lot. NOTE: 1 car per room, as far as parking in the hotel's parking lot. Room we had 233 was very clean, bit outdated but we didn't book the room based on being updated. The room was worth the price. The location only makes this place that much better. Really peaceful mornings, great views.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are much better places to stay for the same price. Smell in the room was horrible, Window in the room wouldn't close.Answer to the owner.I don't hold anger on a old motel that is looking to charge people "extra" for anything they can. I hope those money will go to a good cause.I didn't have a pet with me, in fact we did have multiple hair that looked like human hair in our bed when we checked in. Motel explanation of the fees - the motel goes through the trash after you check out and then giving you accusations of what was in it. Because of the sand in the trash looked like litter? Do I have to explain other things were in there? This place is ridiculous...

This motel is in a great location and I LOVE being able to walk out of my room straight onto the beach. However, this place needs some major love. The rooms are just okay which makes sense for the price but all of our pillows had stains or what looked to be clumps of dirty dead skin? Makes me feel like maybe the bedding wasn't cleaned... had to go to the Dollar General and buy a blanket and use a sweatshirt as a pillow. But front desk staff is friendly and helpful. And again, awesome beach access!

We booked two nights here and we were considering leaving before the second night because the beds were so uncomfortable. This room has not been updated since possibly the 80s. The bedspread looks stained and dirty. There was not fitted sheets on the bed, just flat sheets that they tucked in. There was no A/C but on the second floor the breeze from outside was sufficient. The outside of the motel is very outdated and dirty. Our fridge was not working so maintenance replaced it but was still claiming the not cold fridge was fine. The view is amazing but for $200 a night they could do better cleaning and have a more comfortable bed. The floors were so dirty that I spilled water on them and put a white towel down to soak it up and the towel turned brown. Do not stay here !!

Staff was nice. Rooms are a little outdated.. the carpet near the end table was dirty. Didn’t look like it was moved to be vacuumed.Everything else was great. Loved the beach front across from our room, the small patio, bed was comfy (but loud! Couldn’t even move an inch without it squeaking. No big deal tho!)Loved how housekeeping would replenish the towels and take out the trash for us daily. Without having any contact.Quiet property!We will definitely be staying again next year!Thanks for everything!!

Casual place to stay. Incredible location right on the beach!!! With sunset views, sandy beach at your doorstep, and ongoing ocean sounds. Piece and haven. We stayed for 6 days and really enjoyed it. I never stayed directly at the beach before. I loved it. No driving, no parking, no headaches!!! Easy. I got to run on the beach every morning, breathing fresh cool air, taking it all in....just recharging. The place itself is not a 5 star experience BUT the location and the price is great and it worked awesome for us. I paid $560 for a 5 night stay and i say for Oregon that is quite nice! Happy with my stay, would stay here again. Thank you for fresh towels, clean rooms and kindness.

The views are fantastic, virtually impossible to be closer to the beach. Property and rooms could use an update and minor maintenance (although they are clean and property is quiet). Little items like USB connectors to charge electronics, that way you don't have to move a nightstand to plug stuff in and a secondary lock on the door would help feeling secure.

Silver Sands Motel is the quintessential location for easy, easy beach access and beautiful ocean views. Front Desk is friendly and accommodating from my initial reservation call to checking in. The motel room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Nice amenities such as mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and a high resolution flat screen! Benches and picnic tables for outdoor ocean viewing.Honestly, a perfect choice sun or rain!

We only planned on staying one night but we loved it so much we stayed 3!!?It was a perfect getaway and the price couldnt be beat!! Clean, quiet, affordable and the staff was great!! it was a good location. As for the hotel, my bed was so squeaky I could wake up a guest two rooms away. I didn't see a privacy policy on their website and I now know why. Please use caution when staying here!! I will never again.

Our room was very very dirty. It appears their cleaning service is to change the linens and vacuum only what you can see. There were cheetos, goldfish crackers and an inch of dust under the bed. We saw bugs in the bathroom. And the front desk person was not the nicest. The location and view are amazing.... I think that's why they think they can get away with the lack of cleanliness. The price was to high for what it is....

My Husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Silver Sands Motel. The staffing was really nice and greated us with a Big smile.This was our first stay with them but in no way were we treated as strangers. It's an older motel but our room was nice and clean and very spacious. We were on the ground floor and we had a back door that opened up to the beach access and a small patio area where we can sit and enjoy the sights. I will strongly recommend Silver Sands to everyone. We loved it quaint quiet and clean if we are ever in the area we will stay again and for longer. Right on the beach near shops and convenience store. Very nice staff and all the things you would expect. We paid just under $100 the week before spring break. It's not new but is nice and if your goal is to stay on the beach this is it.

Me, my fiance, and our 3 year old decided to take an impromptu road trip to the Pacific Ocean. We stayed here only a night and the room wasnt anything fancy but the view from our room was incredible. Absolutely worth it. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

A wonderful break on a 4 day road trip. I love my mountains but need to visit the ocean. This soothed my soul and will be tops on the agenda my next run. Clean, pristine, easy access, family friendly, plenty of room!

UPDATE TO REVIEW: The manager was terribly rude. Came in telling my wife "so, whats wrong with your room"? Than was told that the electricians need to go back in after you get in the room. I mean, seriously. My wife said absolutely not, she proceeds to say "well the direct TV guys need to get back in" she said no, and the manager says "well, if they don't get to come back in you won't have any tv". I have worked for Marriott hotels, Courtyard hotels and Hyatts for many years, and i am flabbergasted as to how this manager handled our complaints, also the way she handled the first guests complaints also. And with Covid, who is to tell how many people were in here without it being cleaned and sanitized. You are better off going elsewhere. We paid full price, not through a 3rd party, 128.00 we got attitude, lack of customer service and a semi clean room. This is the one and last time we come here.

The location was beautiful with a wonderful view of the ocean. The receptionist was helpful and kind, give good advice on nearby attractions and good food.The room was comfortable and mostly clean, the only bad part is what's noted in the pictures. Unfortunately this is a black mold, which is either mostly okay, or very bad to be around for any length of time.That in mind, I do intend to stay again. This was something easily fixed, and after it's cared for, this place will certainly deserve business.

Stayed here before not to bad. This time horrible! I understand restrictions due to COVID. However I would like staff would go the extra step to ensure guest's safety. Went to put some clothes in 1 of the 2 small drawers. Nope! Filled with crumbs. Bathroom floor dirty. Went to make coffee in the morning, coffee grinds in a dirty pot. For $135.00 a night, we were ripped off.

This is an old motel that could use some modernization. However, having said that, the location with your backdoor opening straight to the beach is worth the stay. We happened to be there the night of the high wind event that caused all the fires in the NW. Since there are no air conditioners in the rooms, no one realized the power had gone out during the night. So that was an interesting combination.

Right on the beach and clean room. But the bed was ridiculously uncomfortable. No AC, which would have been fine with just the windows open. But with a forest fire in the area there was smoke everywhere. And I know with covid businesses are be cautious. But this is the first hotel I’ve ever been to that want the name of everyone with me and my relationship to them. Not sure what that is about but it felt overly intrusive.

I Will never stay there again, fridge was really gross and didn't work waisted 2 gallons of milk. smoke detector wasn't even hooked in properly and no battery in it. food and garbage on the floor.no a/c unit and the only window to the room wouldn't open. staff was rude about it when asked them to replace the fridge and they made it seem like it wasn't turned up so he did and it still didn't work.

Stumbled upon the Silver Sands Motel after three days of tent camping along the coast. So the shower alone earned this place 5 stars. But when I walked out our back door and saw the waves and miles of sandy beach, I knew I was in heaven. Rockaway Beach is a wonderful place to spend a day or more. Quiet, super mellow, and peaceful. Bon fires on the beach, a train ride, and plenty of gorgeous scenery.

Toilet was more for little kids, low on the ground. Stove top didn't work, ceiling fan full of dust. Front office very friendly and helpful. If you need paper towels and coffee must ask for it during check in or later.

Great views and decent prices. There were a few maintenance issues but nothing that effected our stay. I was sad that there was no coffee in the room even though there was a pot to make it. Also they couldn't come in to clean due to covid I guess, which was unfortunate. Overall a great place.

The actual room was quite comfortable and had all comforts. Seemed relatively clean. We had researched motels specifically with pools and hot tubs. Which were advertised and pictured. However were notified upon check in tha hot tub was not working. Told owner didn’t want to pay for maintenance on it. Well then remove it from your amenities that people pay for. It was a major selling factor for family. Extremely disappointed.

We had a wonderful stay! We had a room with a kitchen, and it was stocked with all the basics. The rooms were clean, and you can’t beat the wall-to-wall view of the Pacific Ocean! Very easy access to the beach.

We loved this place! We had a walk out room and it was so convenient. The rooms are dated but it adds to the charm. We stayed at another "on the beach" hotel in seaside and wished we were still at this one. There is no ac but you get a nice breeze with the window open. Easy walk to eating and shopping. Only suggestion would be a place to rinse off from the beach so you aren't tracking sand through the room?? Other than that, it was a great place! We'll definitely be back!!!
