This is a nice ,clean,quite motel. It sits on the ocean front with full access to the beach. The access is located... right behind the hotel appox 25 yards walking distance. The sound of the ocean and the waves made it peaceful and pleasant. I fell right to sleep. This was my first alone at a hotel and I felt comfortable ,safe ,warm.I recommend this motel to anyone looking for a room on the Oregon coast and I will also come back. Thank you for all the accommodations.read more

Stayed here over the weekend.. Was a cute little hotel with an amazing view of the beach. I was greeted by a friendly... man at the front desk and engaged in some small talk he made me feel welcomed and right at home. Rooms were cute and for the most part modern. The rooms were clean and well stocked with dishes and ever thing you would need to use in the kitchen.read more

My boyfriend and I took a detour to the coast one night on our vacation and found this place. We went to check in, and... the gentlemen with the tattoos at the front desk was fantastic to us. He was so kind to us and showed us all the restaurants and dispensaries near the hotel at our request. He definitely helped us feel secure in renting a room. The rooms were nice, small but well stocked with anything you need! Plus it’s right on the beach. You can’t beat a beach walk right after you wake up!!read more

We enjoyed staying at the Surfside Resort! We liked how spacious the suite was with separate bedroom, kitchen and... living room, large dining room, and two bathrooms. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed in working order. We wished we had an ocean-view room, but the beach was right outside the hotel, just a short walk. We loved strolling down the long beach in the mornings, with almost no one else around. The town of Rockaway Beach is not as built up and touristy as Manzanita or Cannon Beach, but we were only 15 minutes from Manzanita and 30 minutes from Cannon, which made it easy to visit both locations. We recommend driving up the coast and enjoying these other beaches.read more

I had a issue with my reservation. A person named Malibu helped me out to solve the issue. This person was awesome.... Most places would have charged some fee or made this difficult. I would never hesitate based on this experience to book a stay with this location and business. Way to be customer focused and really care about your customers! Thanks again Malibu!read more

While the location was great (right on the water), our room was HORRIBLE. It came out to $140 after fees for a room... with no view. None of the outlets worked (way too loose) and the light bulb in the lamp was burned out, so our room was tiny, cramped, and dark. When we tried to call room service, we realized there was no phone in the room! Our room was lit by a lonely parking lot street light...Additionally, there was no conditioner for the shower, and the bath tub has sandpaper in it. I guess this is to prevent people from slipping, but it's not comfortable at all.The picture I posted is how I was able to use the outlet...by propping my charger up on a paper towel roll wedged over my shoe. Hope this life hack helps somebody.Malibu from the front desk was the only good part of our stay :(read more

Surfside Resort is a lovely place to stay. My hope is that when folks post reviews they are honest & accurate. One of... the reviews posted almost caused me to not stay here.The information they posted was not true. I’m so glad I ignored it. We stayed in the family unit with a full kitchen & every utensil needed. We were ocean front with a beautiful view. The gas fireplace was really nice & having the separate bedroom for my grandson was perfect. Not a thing to complain about. The folks at the front desk were wonderful. The steps down to the beach were so close. So please be honest when writing reviews - you could keep someone from having a great experience. We will be back!!read more

We loved staying here! We had a very nice and spacious room that had a living space for dining and sitting. The rooms... were not new, but in a way we actually liked the older, home-like feel. Sort of nostalgic. We absolutely loved that we could walk right into the beach! We spent several hours walking the shoreline taking pictures of the large rocks out in the water. Loved staying here. Was able to book a room off season, on the day of our stay, from their website at a great price.... When we arrived the girl at the front desk was very warm and friendly. The rooms are super cozy, clean and ours had a kitchenette! And a gas fireplace! The bed was quite comfortable. I’ve stayed at my fair share of economy hotels and this one is many orders of magnitude above the rest. 10/10 would book again.read more

I am in love with this place. We were desperately looking for a place along the coast to stay that wouldn't break the... bank, and this had a special deal on Booking.com that we couldn't pass up. They have a direct line to the beach, and only a staircase away you will find yourself down on the sand. The view from the West side rooms is amazing for sitting out and watching the waves. Great place to play in the sand and water, just know that there is no lifeguard so it is at your own risk. We were in one of their smallest East facing rooms, and they are literally just a place to sleep, but it was well worth it, and had great showers! For some reason their phone number was not dialing though, and we didn't have a phone in the room to call them, but other than that things were great!read more

It's on the beach, has a heated pool, and the rooms are spacious. Price is also good, especially given the previous. It... could be a little cleaner and maybe a little updating. Nothing major but, at least our room, had some cobwebs and a bottle of Tylenol left behind from a previous guest. None the less we enjoyed our stay and the beach is amazing.read more

The room can really use an update. Everything is outdated. The beds needs to be replaced . It would creak when I would... go on it and the next day my husband’s and my back would ache. We were on the second floor facing the ocean. We enjoyed the view. They don’t have an elevator. My kids enjoyed the pool. We thought it was closed due to covid and it also mentioned it was closed on their website, so it was nice that it was open. They don’t offer breakfast. They have an ice machine next to the office, but was out of ice. I think that it was expensive for what it is. There was a two night minimum to stay there. I would probably look around at other places to stay before I would pick this place. If this was the only option I would stay here again.read more

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. The room was great, had an amazing view and was good size. Had everything... we needed in stock in the family suite. Only drawback is it could really use a renovation on the interior. Everything is pretty dated, worn and a bit stained but the price reflects and it's a great deal if you don't mind the outdated interior.read more

Pretty sure there are vast differences between the beach-facing units and the not beach-facing ones. Seems as though... most of the higher rated reviews here are from a completely different property.We ended up with a room in building E, which is not nice. The room was not clean - not like they rushed to get it done, but like it hasn't seen a cleaning crew in recent history. You can still get hints of old cigarette smoke from the 80's. The bed was made and towels were folded, but that's where it stopped.Light switches, door handles, cabinets - sticky with the grime of 1000 children. The carpet is...moist. Sort of like if you had carpet in a gym locker room. We wore shoes the entire time. Furniture is old and very worn. Appliances are equally aged but functional. Stove has a decent amount of crust built up on it. Light fixtures had a random hodgepodge of bulbs - some of which actually turned on.Bottom line - either try to get a beach-view room, or keep on looking. Or bring Clorox wipes. Lots of wipes.read more

Unfortunately with housing so scarce in the area we live in a home that currently has no water through no fault of our... own. I rented a room to basically be able to privately shower and it definitely exceeded my expectations for the cost. Very clean and comfortable! If I could have afforded to extend my stay a week or more I would have in a heart beat!read more

The good: Great ocean view with balcony. Cozy gas fireplace. Very friendly staff. Good chance of a revisit.The bad:... Weak Internet.. The beds were a little bit of an issue. One was very hard, the other was very soft. The coffee carafe was broken, but they replaced it with a brand new coffee maker. Shower head didn't move with was not very good to remove sand. No laundry services on property. I had to buy new shoes because mine got wet from the waves when my son was swimming.read more

View is awesome and so beautiful! Very good location! If you have front view room, you can see incredible sunsets! Very... goog stay for star watchers, because there aren't lights nearby. But some renovation will be good, specially for sofas or at least some covering for them. Good kitchen, clean and all you need for cooking, microwave, big refrigerator without smell (!!), oven, toaster, dishwasher etc. But if they change some plates and cups it will be better. Clean good inside and outside.read more

My family of four stayed in A102, a double queen family suite with a kitchen. For those looking for quick review, stay... here. This place feels like home!Now for the details. In the main room, we had a queen bed, a table with 4 chairs, a couch, TV, dresser, gas fireplace, and full kitchen (which is nice if you're looking to save money by cooking during vacation like we did). In a smaller room, we had another queen bed, dresser and TV. Off the main room, we had a sliding glass door with a balcony and two chairs. The view from our room was unobstructed and absolutely incredible. You couldn't ask for a better ocean view.The room overall was very clean. The carpet and kitchen appliances appeared to be newer. The bathroom could use an update, but it worked fine and was clean. Our beds were comfortable (but the one in the small room felt a little more worn).Beach access was very easy. There was a path between the buildings, and steps down to the beach (with motion lights on the steps for night).Due to Covid-19, the pool was not available for use, and there was no daily housekeeping. But staff did come by (with masks on) to collect our room trash, and offered us clean towels. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and seemed eager to make our stay enjoyable. During our stay, there were fires in Oregon, and we lost power. Staff kept us informed the best they could, and even though it wasn't the hotel's fault, they seemed sorry.My family loved our stay here. Our room felt like home, and we found the town of Rockaway Beach to be very enjoyable...much less crowded than the bigger tourist towns on the coast, but close enough to busier areas (if that's your thing). We will definitely be returning on our yearly coastal vacations, and would recommend Surfside to anyone!read more

It looks decent from the exterior but the room I was assigned is a dank little space, a little bigger than a walk in... closet. It appears to be clean but it is so outdated. It's a great spot if you're planning to spend most of your time out of your room. I just want to sleep in there and get up and leave first thing in the morning. Not a room you want to sit and hang out in. I'm thinking that the ocean view rooms are a great diversion. I did not get one.read more

We had an amazing time! Couldn't ask for a better view. Full, updated kitchen. Huge balcony and side window views from... our specific room. Gas fireplace was great! Beach access was steps from the rooms. Nice sitting areas in the grass right in front of the rooms. On top of that, the office had excellent customer service. We decided to extend our stay one more night and the office went out if their way to accommodate us in order to stay in our room instead of having to switch rooms. Such a perfect place to stay. The nightly rate was outstanding. My only recommendation would be to update the bed. It was pretty uncomfortable, but we will be back to enjoy the beach again asap! So glad we found this hidden gem!read more

The Location was AWESOME! Very close to the beach. Nice little grass yard between the building and beach access, was... nice with the little ones. The Ocean View rooms have a balcony. The rooms were ok. They were a little dated and could use some maintenance, but we're clean. Office was very strict about one person in the office at a time because of covid, but still kept the door shut so I had to touch things going in and out.read more

Terrible, we asked for an early check in 4 hours before normal and wasn't rushed or taken as a priority. Only to find... our room is falling apart (doors and handles coming off as well as a fire alarm falling off the wall) as well as actual poop on the walls in the bathroom (which wasn't clean, sand still in the tub, dirty towels in the room already used)On top of that I was charged over what they quoted me without reason. Nice view, but you can get that anywhere on the coast.Service was bad, room was bad, they obviously are taking advantage of the 4th and limited rooms available. I for sorry for anyone who wasted their 4th of July plans at this place.read more

Asked for more pillows and was told none given asked if vending machines were up and running and they had nothing in... asked for extra towels and was told none can be given bed was hard and when I booked room it was a ocean view and when I got to room it was a side room no view also all night kids running all around no sleep at all and when I complain in the morning because no one answered the office phone there was no remorse it was just a well you should have called I won't be staying there againread more

The location and view is great, and I love having a kitchenette in the room! I also love the price! However, the... service and furnishings left much to be desired. Our rooms were never cleaned (floors swept/vacuumed nor bedding made/changed) during the 5 days/4 nights we've been here. Instead, the cleaning staff would stop by our room and ask what we needed. They suppliedbus with replacement garbage bags, which we changed ourselves. They did not consistently remove the dirty towels in the bathroom (we have a pile smelling up the bathroom as I write this review). If we were not in our room when the cleaning staff stopped by, they would move on and do nothing with our room (no garbage removal, swapping out obviously dirty towels for clean ones, etc.) As for the furnishings, they are well worn and dated, but quite functional. We've been here 3 times over the past 6 months (a total of 10 nights total), and I'm sure we will be back again sometime, but I think we may plan shorter visits, or at least not stay at this hotel for as long on our Oregon Coast trips.read more

Very cool warehouse! So many unique things to look at. Not a place you can go through quickly, you'll at least want a... couple of hours. Especially during nice weather when the outside is open and displaying additional larger merchandise.
