Hiking is all about experiencing the natural world around you, and what could me more natural than an easy stroll through an old growth wetlands preserve?
The recently improved board walk makes the hike easier than ever to enjoy, and helps keep the cedar wetlands safe from any damaged caused by trekking through the area.
.
The board walk is perfect for all skill levels, and ensures you can enjoy the 46-acre old-growth forest nearly all year long. At the end of the trail you’ll find Rockaway Beach’s largest resident – a 154-foot tall Western Red Cedar.
To see Rockaway Beach’s Wetlands Preserve for yourself, find the trailhead off of Hwy 101 just north of Washington Street.
